Guitarist Andreas Kapsalis will perform at Hope College on Friday, Feb. 20, at 7:30 p.m. in the Knickerbocker Theatre in downtown Holland.
The public is invited. Admission is free.
“Jazziz Magazine” has described Kapsalis as “a player possessed of exquisite grace and touch, and also, when he desires, blinding speed, on a steel-string acoustic throughout.”
As a self-taught guitarist and composer, Kapsalis brings a unique playing style to the stage by incorporating his 10-finger tapping techniques with his steel-string acoustic guitar, allowing him to produce a brighter and stronger sound. Kapsalis also incorporates his cultural music experiences into his performance.
Kapsalis performed at Hope College in 2012 as part of the Kapsalis-Ivanovic Guitar Duo.
The Knickerbocker location is a change from Wichers Auditorium, the venue listed in some initial announcements. The Knickerbocker Theatre is located at 86 E. Eighth St.
