Join us for the 44th summer season at Hope Summer Repertory Theatre as we embark on a whirlwind adventure. The season is mixed with a variety of dramatic and comedic works. Our main stage productions include the musicals “Les Misérables” and “Smokey Joe's Cafe,” and the plays “To Kill A Mockingbird” and “Hay Fever.”

The Children’s Performance Troupe series will include “Jingle ARRGH The Way: A Christmas Pirate Adventure” and “Junie B. Jones: The Musical.” These alltime favorites are sure to sell out fast so don't miss out. The season begins on June 11 and runs through August 8 with all performances at the DeWitt Theatre.

The 44th season at HSRT kicks things off with one of the world's longest running musicals, “Les Misérables,” for a limited 3week run which MUST end June 30th. Don't miss the opportunity to see one of the most beloved musicals of all time. Follow the journey of convict Jean Valjean, who vows to redeem himself despite the obstacles that arise. Set in postRevolution France, “Les Misérables” reminds us that love, sacrifice, and the pursuit of justice can change the world. Performances are at 8 p.m. on June 11, 12, 13, 17, 18, 19, 20, 23, 24, 29, 30 in the DeWitt Theatre. There will also be a 1:30 p.m. matinee on June 20.

Opening June 26 is Harper Lee's Pulitzer Prizewinning “To Kill A Mockingbird.” With the anticipation of Lee's upcoming release of “Go Set A Watchman” this summer, you won't want to miss this classic, which explores the racial injustice that threatens to divide a community. Through courage and compassion, lawyer Atticus Finch seeks truth and justice, while his feisty daughter, Scout, learns what it means to be an instrument of hope. Performances are at 8 p.m. on June 26, 27, July 1, 8, 9, 16, 18, 22, 28, and August 8 in the DeWitt Theatre. There will also be a 1:30 p.m. matinee on July 18.

Join us for 105 minutes of nonstop music favorites with “Smokey Joe's Cafe.” Featuring nearly 40 of the greatest songs ever recorded, including “Jailhouse Rock,” “Charlie Brown,” “There Goes My Baby,” “Stand By Me,” “Yakety Yak,” “On Broadway,” “Love Potion #9,” “Fools Fall in Love,” and “Spanish Harlem.” An evening of music you won't soon forget. Created by American songwriting legends Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller, “Smokey Joe's Cafe” will be performed in the DeWitt Theatre at 8 p.m. on July 10, 11, 15, 17, 21, 23, 30, and August 1, 3, 5, 7.

Noel Coward's “Hay Fever” is a raucous ride of hilarious flirtations and histrionics. Retired Diva of the stage, Judith Bliss, her novelist husband and their two adult children have all invited house guests for the weekend. As they indulge their artistic eccentricities, the guests begin to wonder if they've landed in a madhouse and if they can survive the weekend with their own sanity intact. Join us for an evening of “Blissful” revelries. Performances on July 24, 25, 27, 29, 31 and August 4, 6 at 8 p.m. in the DeWitt Theatre.

The holidays will come early this year with the crew from Melinda Long's “How I Became a Pirate” returning to the Children’s Performance Troupe (CPT) stage in an allnew adventure, “Jingle ARRGH the Way: A Christmas Pirate Adventure.” A mysterious message left in the crow's nest of their ship brings Captain Braid Beard and his pirate mates back to North Beach to seek out young Jeremy Jacob. They need his help to solve a riddle and find the Christmas treasure. Join your favorite characters for a rollicking story, great songs, and a trip to the North Pole to find “you know who.” Performed in the DeWitt Studio Theatre at 10:30 a.m. on June 17, 19, 22, 24, 29, July 1, 6, 8, 27, 31 and August 5 and at 1:30 p.m. on July 24, 29 and August 3 and 7.

CPT’s second production this summer will transport you back to your childhood with the entertaining exploits of “Junie B. Jones: The Musical,” book and lyrics by Marcy Heisler, and music by Zina Goldrich. It's Junie B.'s first day of first grade and a lot of things have changed: her friend Lucille doesn't want to be her best pal anymore, she has trouble reading the blackboard, and her teacher, Mr. Scary, thinks she may need glasses. Throw in a friendly cafeteria lady, a kickball tournament, and a “TopSecret Personal Beeswax Journal,” and first grade has never been more exciting. Based on the book series by Barbara Park, “Junie B. Jones” is a generational favorite. Performed in the DeWitt Studio Theatre at 10:30 a.m. on July 15, 17, 20, 22, 24, 28, 29, 30 and August 1, 3, 7 and at 1:30 p.m. on July 25, 27, 31 and August 5.
