Hope College’s Maura McAfee has been chosen the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Women’s Basketball Player of the Week for games through December 19.

The senior forward from Midland, Michigan (Midland HS) is honored after leading the unbeaten and nationally ranked Flying Dutch to a 2-0 record at their Post Exam Jam last weekend and earning Tournament MVP honors.

This is the seventh time in McAfee's career she has been named MIAA Player of the Week and second this season.

McAfee led the Flying Dutch in scoring in both games with 16 points against Lawrence and a season-high 22 against Lake Forest.

McAfee has scored in double figures in eight of Hope’s nine games this season.
