Hope College runner Erin Herrmann has been named the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Women’s Indoor Track Athlete of the Week for meets through February 14.

Hope College runner Erin Herrmann has been named the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Women’s Indoor Track Athlete of the Week for meets through February 14. 

The junior from Wheaton, Illinois (Wheaton-Warrenville South HS) is honored after setting a school record in the 3,000-meter run at the Grand Valley State Big Meet on Friday. 

Herrmann bested her own previous school record by more than 13 seconds with a time of 9 minutes, 52.98 seconds to finish 16th out of 39 runners overall across all divisions. 

Herrmann’s time is the fourth-fastest indoor finish in the event this season in Division III.  

Herrmann was selected along with her distance medley relay teammates as MIAA Indoor Track Athletes of the Week for meets through February 7.
