Hope College’s JP Batts has received all-region recognition from the American Baseball Coaches Association.

battsThe senior rightfielder from Spring Lake, Michigan (Spring Lake) is a third-team selection in the Mideast Region. 

Batts hit a team-leading .415 this season with 59 hits — the second-most number of hits by a Flying Dutchmen player. 

Batts ranked second on the team with 33 runs scored and 28 RBIs. 

Batts previously was named an All-Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association first-team outfielder. 

In MIAA play, Batts hit a team-leading .439 against league opponents this season that was third-highest among MIAA players. 

Batts totaled 43 hits in MIAA play, including nine doubles, three triples and one home run. He also recorded 20 RBIs and 20 runs scored in league games.
