Hope College’s Zach Telfor has been selected the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Defensive Player of the Week in football for games played on October 28.

The senior defensive end from Charlotte, Michigan (Charlotte HS) recorded a team-high 11 tackles during the Flying Dutchmen’s 50-0 victory at Kalamazoo College on Saturday.

Telfor made 2 ½ tackles for loss and one sack. He also recovered one fumble.

The shutout was the second of the season for Hope — a first for the Flying Dutchmen since 1985.

This is the first time Telfor is recipient of MIAA Player of the Week laurels.
