
Hope College golfer Kade Hoeksema has earned Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholars for NCAA Division III from the Golf Coaches Association of America.
The junior from Byron Center, Michigan (South Christian HS) is one of 44 Division
III golfers to earn the national distinction.
To be eligible for Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar status an individual
must be a junior or senior academically and compete in at least two full years at
the collegiate level, participate in 50-percent of his team’s competitive rounds or
compete in the NCAA Championships, have a stroke average under 79.0 in Division III
and maintain a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.2.
A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at his college
or university.
Hoeksema is the 11th different Hope player to claim Scholar All-America honors from
the national coaches association.
Hoeksema averaged 76.26 strokes per 18 holes during 19 rounds this season while helping
the Flying Dutchmen repeat as Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association champions
and return to the national tournament.
