Hope College’s Gunnar Elder has been chosen the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Men’s Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week for matches played March 6-11.

The senior attacker from East Grand Rapids, Michigan (East Grand Rapids HS) is receiving the award for the fourth time in his career and the first time this season.

Elder is honored after leading the Flying Dutchmen to a 10-8 win against Elmhurst, Illinois on Saturday amid 20-degree game-time temperatures at Van Andel Soccer Stadium.

Elder scored a team-high five goals on just six shots, including two while Hope was down a player.

The non-league victory pushed Hope’s win streak to three matches.
