Hope College’s Harrison Blackledge has been selected the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Men’s Basketball Player of the Week for games played January 23-29.

The senior forward from Canton, Ohio (Hoover HS) is honored for the second time in his career after leading the MIAA-leading Flying Dutchmen to victories on Wednesday, January 25 at Calvin and at home against Albion on Saturday, January 28.

Blackledge averaged 27.0 points on 60-percent field-goal shooting (18-of-30) and 100-percent free-throw shooting (14-14).

Against Calvin, Blackledge recorded a team-high 25 points and seven rebounds. He scored 16 points alone in the second half.

Against Albion, Blackledge totaled a team-high 12 points during Hope’s second-half comeback that improved the Flying Dutchmen to 15-4 overall and 8-0 in MIAA play. Hope outscored Albion 53-30 during the second half.

Blackledge did not miss a shot after halftime against Albion, going for 3-of-3 from the field with one 3-pointer and 5-of-5 from the foul line.

This is the second this season Blackledge has been named MIAA Player of the Week. He also earned the honor on November 21, 2016.
