Athletics
As a member of the MIAA and NCAA Division III associations, Hope College sponsors 22 varsity sports for men and women. The college is home to the 2022 NCAA Division III National Championship women’s basketball team.

Hope College’s Joshua Izenbart has been chosen the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Men’s Field Athlete of the Week for competition from April 24-30.

The freshman from Glenwood, Illinois (Homewood-Flossmoor HS) placed fifth in the decathlon at the Hillsdale College Gina Relays with a score of 5,581 points.

Izenbart ranks 42nd in NCAA Division III with his decathlon score.

Izenbart won the decathlon’s high jump and the 400 meters during the meet.

This is the first time Izenbart is receiving recognition from the MIAA.
