Men’s Cross Country Finishes Fourth At MIAA Championship
The Hope College men’s cross country team placed fourth at the 2017 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Championships on Saturday in Tecumseh, Michigan. The Flying Dutchmen totaled 125 points.
Senior Jacob Jansen of Johnston, Iowa (Johnston HS) topped Hope with a 23rd-place
effort at Raisin Valley Golf Club of 25 minutes, 57.8 seconds.
Senior Benjamin Pederson of Mount Prospect, Illinois (Mount Prospect) took 24th in
25:58.7.
Junior Nathan Schloff of Holland, Michigan (Holland Christian) came in 25th at 26:05.2.
Junior Ryan Holman of Holmen, Wisconsin (Holmen) placed 26th at 26:07.7.
Junior Nicholai Shaw of Allendale, Michigan (Home School) rounded out Hope’s scoring
in 27th at 26:11.8.
Also in the Flying Dutchmen’s top seven were freshman Zackary Murphy of Coldwater,
Michigan (Coldwater) in 31st at 26:20.7 and junior Brett Slayton of Holland, Michigan
(Hamilton) in 33rd at 26:24.3.
