Hope College’s Julian Morrison and Jake Babb are the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association’s Men’s Track & Field Athletes of the Week for competition from March 13-19.

Morrison is the MIAA Track Athlete of the Week recipient after placing first in the 10,000 meters out of 32 runners at the Emory Invitational on Friday in Atlanta, Georgia.

The senior from Aurora, Illinois (Waubonsie Valley HS) clocked a winning time of 31 minutes, 44.44 seconds and finished 15 seconds ahead of the nearest competitor.

Jake BabbBabb, a freshman from Caledonia, Michigan (Caledonia), earned spots in the top 10 in both the discus and shot put at the Emory Invitational.

Babb took third in the discus with a toss of 143 feet, 4 inches (43.69 meters).

Babb was ninth in the shot put at 42 feet, 10 inches (13.08 meters).

This is the first time both Babb and Morrison have received MIAA weekly honors in outdoor track & field.
