Hope College’s Nicholas Salomon has been selected the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Men’s Outdoor Track Athlete of the week for meets April 17-23.

The senior from Troy, Michigan (Detroit Jesuit HS) is receiving the weekly honor for the second time this season and the third time in his career.

Salomon placed second in the 800 meters at the Grand Valley State University Classic on Saturday that included runners from NCAA Divisions II and III, and NAIA.

Salomon clocked a time of 1 minute, 51.96 seconds that is the fastest in the MIAA this season.

Salomon’s time is the ninth-fastest in the NCAA this season.
