The public is invited. Admission is free.

The combined choirs and orchestra will perform composer Beethoven's “Mass in C Major, opus 86.” The concert will feature professional soloists Penny Kindraka, soprano; Kristin Baron, alto; Jono Taccolini, tenor; and Jung Woo Kim, baritone.

Directed by Christopher Fashun, the Hope College Symphony Orchestra is one of the premier ensembles at Hope College. While seeking the highest professional standards, the orchestra performs a diverse repertoire of music from the Western classical tradition, jazz and global music, and contemporary works. The Symphony Orchestra regularly presents concerts during the academic year and features faculty and guest artists.

Directed by Brad Richmond, the Chapel Choir is Hope’s premier choral ensemble and consists of 40 auditioned choristers. The choir, founded in 1938, has toured extensively throughout the United States and Canada, performing in venues including The National Cathedral in Washington, D.C., and numerous choral conferences, and has traveled abroad on eight occasions. This May, the choir will tour in South Africa, which it had previously visited in 2009. The choir is also featured in events at Hope, including the college’s long-standing Christmas Vespers, the award-winning television broadcast of which is seen around the country at Christmastime on PBS.

Hope’s largest choral ensemble, College Chorus, is composed of music majors and non-majors with varying degrees of choral music experience, and also directed by Richmond. College Chorus participates in Christmas Vespers, and, in tandem with Chapel Choir, performs a large choral-orchestral work each spring.
