The Hope College Great Performance Series will feature the contemporary dance company Bryn Cohn + Artists on Friday, Sept. 21, at 7:30 p.m. at the Knickerbocker Theatre.

Founded in 2011, Bryn Cohn + Artists is a New York-based contemporary dance company consisting of unique, collaborative artists from diverse backgrounds. The company has found critical acclaim amongst artists, press and audiences throughout New York, Boston, Seattle and Los Angeles.

“Dynamic,” said The Dance Enthusiast, along with “stunning moments of visual clarity… Bryn Cohn is a brilliant mind.”

The company aims to explore the physical and imaginative boundaries of dance, and in the process make dance more accessible to the public.  It has brought its teaching programs to institutions including the California Institute of the Arts and the City Ballet of Los Angeles, and will work with Hope College dance students while on campus.

Bryn Cohn + Artists has received awards and funding from various companies, including the Kaatsbaan International Dance Center and the SILO Residence through DanceNOW. More recently, Bryn Cohn herself has been nominated for a Princess Grace Award as the winner of REGALIA, a choreographic competition on Repertory Dance Theatre.   Cohn has been described as “A dancemaker who does not shy away from much” by DYI Dancer.
