The Hope College Symphony Orchestra will feature the student winners of the college’s 46th Annual Concerto-Aria Competition on Friday, Feb. 23, at 7:30 p.m. in the Concert Hall of the Jack H. Miller Center for Musical Arts.

The public is invited. Admission is free.

The concert will feature three students who will be performing with the orchestra.

Caleb Stuckey, violin, will perform “Concerto in D minor, op. 47: Movements 2 and 3,” by Jean Sibelius. Hannah Dirkse, alto saxophone, will perform “Scaramouche: Suit pour Saxophone et Orchestre,” by Darius Milhaud. Hannah Karel, soprano, will perform “O mio Babbino Caro,” by Giacomo Puccini.

The orchestra will be perform “Overture to Candide,” by Leonard Bernstein, and “Tico Tico no Fuba,” by Zequinha de Abreu.

The orchestra is directed by Christopher H. Fashun, who is an assistant professor of music and director of orchestras at Hope.

The Jack H. Miller Center for Musical Arts is located at 221 Columbia Ave., between Ninth and 10th streets.
