Hope Summer Repertory Theatre Receives Five Oscar Wilde Award Nominations
Hope Summer Repertory Theatre has received a total of five EncoreMichigan 2018 Oscar Wilde Award nominations for its productions of “Schoolhouse Rock Live!” and “A View from the Bridge,” which HSRT staged in 2017 as part of the company’s 46th season.
“Schoolhouse Rock Live!” has been nominated for four awards, including Best Theatre for Young Audiences. In addition, Skye Edwards has been nominated for Best Performance in a Theatre for Young Audiences Production; Emily White Freeman has been nominated for Best Design – Props; and Chaz Arnett Sanders has been nominated for Best Choreography. Sanders’ choreography can be seen again this season in HSRT’s production of “The Wiz.”
Steve Cardamone has been nominated for Best Performance of a Lead Actor in a Play in HSRT’s production of “A View from the Bridge.”
The nominations are by the team of EncoreMichigan critics, and EncoreMichigan.com will name the winners of the 2018 Wilde Awards on August 27. The award show will take place at The Berman Center for Performing Arts in West Bloomfield.
Hope Summer Repertory Theatre’s 47th season runs June 13 through August 10 and includes “The Wiz,’” “The Odd Couple,” “An Iliad,” “Godspell” and “Dragon Pack Snack Attack - The Musical.” More information can be found online at or on facebook.
