Hope Summer Repertory Theatre to Present “The Odd Couple” Beginning June 29
Hope Summer Repertory Theatre’s season premieres continue with “The Odd Couple” on Friday, June 29, at 7:30 p.m. in the DeWitt Center main theatre.
Additional performances will be held at 7:30 p.m. on June 30; and July 3, 5, 7, 10, 12, 16 and 18. There will also be a performance at 1:30 p.m. on July 7.
The classic comedy opens as a group of guys assemble for cards in the apartment of the divorced Oscar Madison. Last to arrive is the fastidious and excessively tense Felix Ungar, who has just recently separated from his wife. Felix tries to hold it all together, but his friends can tell he is upset about his divorce. Since he has nowhere to go, Oscar invites Felix to move in with him until he has the chance to figure things out. Although the two men are exact opposites, the clean-freak and the slob ultimately decide to room together with hilarious results as “The Odd Couple” is born.
“The Odd Couple” is directed by Jahnna Beecham. The creative team includes Joe Flauto as scenic designer, Olivia Trees as costume designer, Stephen Sakowski as lighting designer, Josh Schmidt as sound designer and Shea Hittman as stage manager.
The cast includes Michael J. Barnes, Kevin Beebee, Devri Chism, Kristin Conrad, Chip DuFord, Glen Forbes, Eric Robinson and Brandon Wright.
