Hope College’s Claire Hallock has been selected the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Women’s Tennis Player of the Week for matches played February 18-24.
The sophomore from Lakeland, Florida (Harrison Center HS) is receiving the honor for
the second time in her career after defeating two opponents from nationally ranked
teams last week and helping the 21st-ranked Flying Dutch split their matches.
Hallock went 4-0 combined in singles and doubles play at DeWitt Tennis Center.
During a 6-3 victory against visiting Oberlin, Ohio on Friday, Hallock beat Mayada
Audeh at No. 2 singles 6-0, 6-1.
At No. 2 doubles, Hallock teamed with partner Taylor LaBarge of Hudsonville, Michigan
(Hudsonville) for an 8-4 victory against Delaney Black and Rainie Heck.
During a 7-2 loss to Case Western Reserve, Ohio, Hallock defeated Case Western Reserve's
Madeleine Paolucci at No. 2 singles 6-2, 6-3.
At No. 2 doubles, Hallock paired with LaBarge for a 9-8 (2) victory against Peyton
Young and Nicole Cardwell.
