Hope College’s Dante Hawkins has been named Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Men’s Basketball Player of the Week for the second consecutive week.

The senior guard from Holland, Michigan (Holland HS) is honored for his performance during the Flying Dutchmen’s two wins at their Russ DeVette/Holland Sentinel Classic last weekend.

Hawkins averaged 26.5 points, 4.0 assists, 4.0 rebounds and 1.5 steals against Mount Union, Ohio and John Carroll, Ohio. He shot 51.7 percent from the field (15-29) and 93.8 percent from the foul line (15-16).

Against Mount Union, Hawkins totaled a season-high 29 points with five 3-pointers.

Against John Carroll, Hawkins scored 24 points and three steals.

This is the fourth time Hawkins has been chosen MIAA Player of the Week in his career.
