Hope College’s Mark VanderStoep has been selected the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Men’s Tennis Player of the Week. 

The junior from Holland, Michigan (West Ottawa HS) is receiving the award for the first time in his Flying Dutchmen career. VanderStoep won both his singles and doubles matches last week to help Hope win 9-0 at Alma and clinch the No. 2 seed for the MIAA Tournament. At No. 2 singles, VanderStoep defeated Luke Van Fleet 6-0, 6-2. At No. 1 doubles, VanderStoep teamed with Danny Kroeze for an 8-4 decision against BJ Schuette and Van Fleet.

VanderStoep went 6-1 in MIAA doubles matches this season and 4-1 in singles play.
