The Hope College women’s and men’s swimming & diving teams recorded two of the highest grade point averages in the country en route to claiming Scholar All-America honors for the Spring 2018 semester from the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America.

The Flying Dutch posted a 3.67 GPA - the eighth-best among NCAA Division III women’s honorees.

The Flying Dutchmen finished with a 3.51 GPA - the ninth-highest among Division III men’s recipients.

Head coach John Patnott is proud of his teams’ accomplishments in the classroom.

“The men and women swimmers and divers set performance goals for themselves and for their teams. They also set academic goals for the teams,” Patnott said. “Their goal was to achieve Division III Scholar All-America Team honors.”

The CSCAA named 710 teams to its Scholar All-America list for the Spring 2018 Semester.  The teams represent 476 institutions from across all NCAA, NAIA and NJCAA Divisions.

The CSCAA recognizes teams with the Scholar All-America Award for achieving a team GPA of 3.0 or higher.
