Hope College running back Mike Miklusicak has been chosen the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Offensive Player of the Week in football.
The senior from Wayland, Michigan (Wayland HS) is recognized by the MIAA for the first time in his career after scoring two touchdowns and rushing for 125 yards during a 53-12 win at Wisconsin Lutheran on Saturday.
Miklusicak recorded only 12 carries in one half of action of the non-league game that was part of the MIAA-Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference crossover series.
Miklusicak reached the end zone on two consecutive series with runs of 59 and 6 yards to give the Flying Dutchmen a 20-6 lead.
Saturday marked Miklusicak's return to the field after missing the first two games this season and the entire 2017 season due to injury.
