
Hope College’s Rachael Webb has been selected the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Women’s Indoor Track Athlete of the Week for meets February 12-18.
The senior from Grand Rapids, Michigan (Grandville HS) is recognized after setting
the indoor school record in the 1-mile run on Friday at the Grand Valley State University
Tune-Up.
Webb finished third of 39 NCAA Division II, Division II, NAIA and unattached runners.
Webb’s time on the oversized track was converted to 5 minutes, 3.86 seconds.
Webb surpassed the previous Hope indoor record of 5:07.70 held by Sheri McCormack
since 2014.
The GVSU Tune-Up was the final one for Hope before Saturday’s MIAA Indoor Track &
Field Championships at Trine University in Angola, Indiana.
