Hope College’s Rachael Webb has been selected the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Women’s Indoor Track Athlete of the Week for meets February 12-18.

The senior from Grand Rapids, Michigan (Grandville HS) is recognized after setting the indoor school record in the 1-mile run on Friday at the Grand Valley State University Tune-Up.

Webb finished third of 39 NCAA Division II, Division II, NAIA and unattached runners.

Webb’s time on the oversized track was converted to 5 minutes, 3.86 seconds.

Webb surpassed the previous Hope indoor record of 5:07.70 held by Sheri McCormack since 2014.

The GVSU Tune-Up was the final one for Hope before Saturday’s MIAA Indoor Track & Field Championships at Trine University in Angola, Indiana.
