Hope College’s Tate Knapp is the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Defensive Player of the Week in football for the second consecutive week.

The senior defensive end from Dorr, Michigan (Hamilton HS) is honored after recording a team-high eight tackles during a 33-14 victory at Adrian College on Saturday that clinched back-to-back, eight-win seasons.

Knapp made three tackles for loss, including two sacks.

He finished the season with 12 sacks - most among MIAA players this season and tied for eighth-most in NCAA Division III.

The Knapp-led Flying Dutchmen limited Adrian to a season-low 209 yards of total offense.

This is Knapp’s second MIAA Defensive Player of the Week award.
