Volleyball’s McKenna Otto And Tracy Westra Named MIAA Players Of The Week
A Hope College pair has been chosen the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Volleyball Players of the Week: middle hitter McKenna Otto and setter Tracy Westra.
Otto reached double-digits in kills three times last week as the Flying Dutch won
two of those matches. The freshman from Wheaton, Illinois (Wheaton North HS) totaled
15 kills during a four-set home win against Saint Mary’s College on Tuesday.
On Saturday at the Elmhurst College (Illinois) Invitational, Otto collected 10 kills
during a five-set loss to No. 20 Wisconsin-Whitewater and 11 during a three-set win
against Wisconsin-Stevens Point. She hit .333 for the week.
Westra averaged 17.6 assists and 6.3 kills last week. The freshman from Clarendon
Hills, Illinois (Timothy Christian HS) delivered a season-high 10 kills against Saint
Mary’s. She hit .947 for the week with only one hitting error.
This is the MIAA Player of the Week award for both Otto and Westra.
