Flautist Dr. Gabe Southard of the Hope College faculty will perform on Sunday, Nov. 3, at 2 p.m. in the Concert Hall of the Jack H. Miller Center for Musical Arts.

The public is invited. Admission is free.

The program will include “Sonata for Flute and Basso Continuo,” by Georg Philipp Telemann; “House of Doors,” by Sarah Bassingthwaighte; “Soliloquy,” by Lowell Liebermann; and “Sonata for Flute and Piano,” by Paul Hindemith. Southard will be accompanied by pianists Emily Grabinski and Jane Bosko, and bassoonist Hannah Reilly.

Southard is an associate professor at Hope, where he conducts the Concert Band, Wind Ensemble, and the Faculty and Student Collaborative Ensemble. He completed his Doctorate of Musical Arts in conducting at Michigan State University, and has performed with the Madison Symphony Orchestra and the Lucca, Italy, Opera Orchestra, as well as a number of community orchestras.

The Jack H. Miller Center for Musical Arts is located at 221 Columbia Ave., between Ninth and 10th streets.
