The Hope College orchestra present will perform with the student winners of the college’s 47th Annual Concerto-Aria Competition on Friday, Feb. 15, at 7:30 p.m. in the Concert Hall of the Jack H. Miller Center for Musical Arts.

The public is invited. Admission is free.

The concert will begin with Kaitlyn Rustemeyer, clarinetist, performing “Concerto for Clarinet,” by Aaron Copland. Miquel Fuentes, cellist, will perform “Concerto in A minor, Op. 129: Movement 3,” by Robert Shumann. Deborah Blackmon, pianist, will perform “Concerto No. 2 in C minor, Op. 18: Movement 1,” by S. Rachmaninoff. Emma Clark, soprano, will perform “Deh Vieni, non Tardar,” from “Le nozze di Figaro,” by W.A. Mozart. Closing the concert will be Gabrielle Barber, soprano, performing “La Canzone di Doretta,” from “La Rondine,” by G. Puccini.

The orchestra is directed by Christopher H. Fashun, who is an assistant professor of music and director of orchestras at Hope.

The Jack H. Miller Center for Musical Arts is located at 221 Columbia Ave., between Ninth and 10th streets.
