Hope College's Claire Hallock has been selected the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Women's Tennis Player of the Week.
The junior from Lakeland, Florida (Harrison Center HS) won each of her No. 1 singles
matches last week on the Flying Dutch's spring break trip to the USTA Training Center
in Orlando, Florida. She also teamed with junior Amanda Bandrowski at No. 1 doubles
to win two more times down south.
Hallock's victories came in Hope's wins over Bethel College (Minnesota), 6-3, North
Central University (Illinois), 8-1, and Grinnell College (Iowa), 9-0. She also won
her match against Division I-opponent, Fordham University (N.Y.), though the Flying
Dutch lost the match as a team, 6-1.
Hallock partnered with Bandrowski, a junior from Traverse City (St. Francis HS), for
two victories at No. 1 doubles against North Central and Grinnell.
This is Hallock's first player-of-the-week recognition this year and third in her
career.
