The Hope College football team received votes in the D3football.com Preseason NCAA Division III poll.

The Flying Dutchmen, led by head coach Peter Stuursma, were among 18 teams outside the Top 25 who received votes. Hope totaled 10 points.

Hope kicks off the 2019 season on Friday, September 6 at Millikin. 

The Flying Dutchmen’s first home game is Saturday, September 14 against Defiance. Kickoff for the annual Community Day game is 1:30 p.m. at Smith Stadium.

The D3football.com poll, in its 17th season, is voted on by a panel of 25 coaches, sports information directors and media members from across the country. The poll is published weekly during the NCAA Division III football season. 

Hope posted an 8-2 overall record last season. 

It marked the first consecutive eight-win seasons for the Flying Dutchmen since 1974-75.

Stuursma has led Hope to a 23-7 record during his first three seasons as head coach.
