Athletics

Hope College’s Grant Williams has been chosen as the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Men’s Diver of the Week.

The sophomore from Grand Rapids, Michigan (East Grand Rapids HS) is claiming the honor for the third time this season.

Williams set two school records and one pool record during the Flying Dutchmen’s home dual meet win against Alma College on Saturday.

In 3-meter diving, Williams scored 324.0 points to pass Jim Mitchell’s 1990 school record of 312.0. Williams finished within 2.60 points of equaling the pool record.

In 1-meter diving, Williams totaled 310.60 points to top Jean Luc Miralda’s 2016 school and pool records of 308.5.
