A unanimous favorite, the nationally ranked Hope College women’s basketball team topped the 2019-20 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Preseason Coaches Poll.
Head coach Brian Morehouse and the Flying Dutch received all eight possible first-place
votes and finished first in the poll with 64 points. Coaches could not vote for their
own team.
Hope is ranked sixth in the D3hoops.com preseason poll and ninth in the Women’s Basketball
Coaches Association preseason poll.
The Flying Dutch return four starters from a 24-5 team that advanced to the second
round of the NCAA Division III Tournament, including two-time All-MIAA First Team
guard Kenedy Schoonveld of Zeeland, Michigan (Holland Christian) and 2018-19 MIAA
Defensive Player of the Year Olivia Voskuil.
Hope tips off off the season on Friday-Saturday, November 8-9 with two games at the
Augustana College (Illinois) Tournament.
