Hope College’s Jenna Breuker has been named the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Women’s Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week.

The freshman from Grand Rapids, Michigan (Forest Hills Eastern HS) is receiving the award after finishing runner-up in the shot put at the Emory College Invitational last weekend in Atlanta, Georgia.

Breuker heaved the shot put 12.30 meters (40 feet, 4 1/4 inches).

Breuker also placed 14th in the discus with a toss of 33.37 meters (109-6).

Breuker helped the Flying Dutch take fifth out of 28 scoring teams at the Emory meet.

This is the first time Breuker has been chosen the MIAA Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week.
