Hope College soccer player Logan Bylsma has received Collegiate Sports Information Directors of America Academic All-District honors for the second consecutive season.

The senior from Hudsonville, Michigan (Hudsonville HS) is now eligible for CoSIDA Academic All-America consideration.

Byslma was a 2018 CoSIDA Academic All-American. He is a public accounting major.

The 2019 Academic All-District® Men’s and Women's Soccer Teams, selected by CoSIDA, recognize the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CoSIDA Academic All-America® program separately recognizes soccer honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

Honorees selected First Team Academic All-District® advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® ballot. Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in early December.

The Division III CoSIDA Academic All-America® program is partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CoSIDA with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2019-20 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs. 

This fall, Bylsma led the Flying Dutchmen with 13 goals and a career-high 31 points. He also recorded a career-best five assists.

Bylsma helped Hope post its second consecutive season with at least 14 wins for the first time since 2004-05.

The Flying Dutchmen went 14-6-1 overall and finished runner-up in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association regular-season standings and league tournament.

Hope received an at-large berth to the NCAA Tournament and made its first postseason appearance in six years. The Flying Dutchmen were chosen as a pod host and lost in the first round to Ohio Wesleyan University.

As a junior, Bylsma scored 14 goals.
