Hope College’s Riley Lewis has been selected the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Men’s Basketball Player of the Week for the first time in his career.

The junior guard from Williamston, Michigan (Williamston HS) averaged 22.5 points on 50 percent field-goal shooting and 3.0 assists during MIAA play last week.

Lewis led the Flying Dutchmen in scoring in both games.

During a 76-68 win against visiting Adrian College, Lewis totaled 25 points on 9-of-17 shooting from the field, including 5-of-9 from 3-point range. He also recorded a career-high five assists against the Bulldogs.

During a 74-70 loss at Calvin, Lewis netted 20 points, including 18 after halftime.

Lewis also made all four of his free-throw attempts last week. He leads NCAA Division III with a free-throw percentage of 98.3 (58-59).
