Andrew Ohm of Seattle, Washington, who is a 2000 Hope graduate, has been appointed as the newest member of the Hope College Alumni Association Board of Directors.

He currently works in global whitespace innovation for Starbucks Coffee Company, where he leads design strategy for new cold coffee concepts and applied futures thinking. He is also responsible for scaling human-centered design within his organization.

In addition, he is a Fellow with IDEO U, where he helps coach others worldwide in applying design thinking methodologies and mindsets. He serves as an advisory board member for Design Thinking Austin, Service Design Week and Experience Design Week.

Through his experience in business design, he enjoys helping students and young professionals in navigating careers in business and in achieving stronger creative confidence. He’s cherished spending time with Hope students across the past two decades and is thrilled to have the opportunity to spend more time on campus in the upcoming years.

Ohm majored in business administration and psychology at Hope, and participated in off-campus study in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, through the Philadelphia Center.  His activities as a student also included the Hope Asian Perspective Association (HAPA), of which he was president and co-founder; the college’s chapter of the Mortar Board honorary society, of which he was vice president; varsity men’s tennis; Psi Chi – The International Honor Society in Psychology; tutoring psychology through the Academic Success Center; serving as a research assistant in the Department of Psychology; and volunteering with the Holland Area Arts Council.

He resides in Seattle with his wife, Cassie, and their two sons.
