Hope College will feature percussionist and faculty member Christopher Fashun on Sunday, Jan. 19, at 2 p.m. in the Concert Hall of the Jack H. Miller Center for Musical Arts.

The public is invited.  Admission is free.

The program is inspired by the music and culture of Brazil.  Fashun will be joined by guests Mark Lopez, percussionist, and Jordan VanHemert, saxophonist.

Fashun is an assistant professor of music at Hope, where he serves as the director of orchestras, the music director of the Brazilian Music Ensemble, the head of the string area and an instructor of instrumental music education. He has also served on the music faculties at St. Ambrose University and Goshen College. Additionally, his conducting experience includes leading orchestras and wind bands at the high school and middle school levels, and directing jazz ensembles, percussion ensembles and drumlines at the high school level.

The Jack H. Miller Center for Musical Arts is located at 221 Columbia Ave., on Columbia Ave. between Ninth and 10th streets.
