Five members of the Hope College women’s cross country team have earned national All-Academic honors in NCAA Division III from the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.
Jacinda Cole, Rebecca Duran, Anna Frazee, Chelsea Miskelley and Ana Tucker represent
the Flying Dutch.
In order to qualify for All-Academic distinction, student athletes must have a cumulative
GPA of at least 3.30 on a 4.0 scale and finish in the top-25 percent of their respective
regional championship meet. There were 378 women who were named All-Academic Individuals
in Division III.
Tucker is a freshman kinesiology major from Midland, Michigan (H.H. Dow). She placed
fifth at the 222-runner regional.
Frazee is a senior education major from Watervliet, Michigan (Home School). She took 18th at the regional. This is her first selection.
Miskelley is a senior chemistry major from Holland, Michigan (Black River). She clocked a 26th-place effort at the regional. This is her second selection.
Cole is a junior education major from Holland, Michigan (West Ottawa). She finished 36th at the regional. This is Cole’s first selection.
Duran is a senior education major from Palatine, Illinois (Palatine HS). She was 54th at the regional. This is Duran’s first selection.
After coming in fourth in the team regional standings and receiving an at-large berth to nationals, Hope finished 27th at the NCAA Championships in November.
Earlier in the fall, the Flying Dutch, led by head coach Mark Northuis, also claimed
their 11th MIAA title overall and fifth in a row, the longest streak in team history.
