Hope College’s Kenedy Schoonveld has been selected as the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Women’s Basketball Athlete of the Week.
The junior guard from Zeeland, Michigan (Holland Christian HS) is honored after leading
the Flying Dutch to two victories and an MIAA Tournament championship last weekend.
Schoonveld averaged 14.5 points and 1.5 steals against Calvin University and Trine
University.
On Saturday against Trine, Schoonveld netted a team-high 15 points of 54.5 percent
field-goal shooting (6-11).
On Friday against Calvin, Schoonveld scored 14 points on 58.3 percent field-goal shooting
(7-12) and made three steals in 17 minutes of play.
This is Schoonveld’s first MIAA Player of the Week honor.
