The new top-ranked team in NCAA Division III women's basketball will start its quest for a national championship at home.

The Flying Dutch, 27-0 overall and MIAA champions, will host first- and second-round games at DeVos Fieldhouse on Friday-Saturday, March 6-7 at DeVos Fieldhouse.

Hope faces Grove City College (Pennsylvania) in the first round at 7:30 p.m.. The other first-round game features Berea College (Kentucky) and Illinois Wesleyan University at 5:30 p.m.

Winner advance to the second-round game on Saturday, March 7 at 7 p.m. at DeVos Fieldhouse.

Tickets will go on sale on Tuesday, March 3 at 12 p.m. through the Hope College Ticket Office, 100 East Eighth Street. Tickets cost $10 for adults and $5 for children and students. They can be ordered online or by calling (616) 395-7890.

After winning the MIAA Tournament last week, Hope moved atop the Women's Basketball Coaches Association NCAA Division III poll on Monday with all eight first-place votes.

This is Hope's 21st NCAA Tournament appearance and 14th in the past 15 seasons. The Flying Dutch won national titles in 2006 and 1990 and finished national runner-up in 2010.

Hope is ranked in the top five in five national categories:

  • Ranked #1 in scoring defense (44.2)
  • Ranked #1 in scoring margin (33.9)
  • Ranked #3 in field-goal scoring percentage (30.6 percent)
  • Ranked #4 in turnover margin (11.3)
  • Ranked #5 in steals per game (15.7)

The Flying Dutch are the lone remaining unbeaten team in NCAA Division III.
