Hope Men's Prospect Soccer Camp

Date: June 12–14, 2020
Grades: 11–12
Location: Van Andel Soccer Stadium

The purpose of this weekend camp is three-fold:

  • Provide a high level training experience for players in attendance
  • Provide rising 11th- and 12th-grade players an opportunity to train with, and play in front of, the Hope College Men’s Soccer coaching staff.
  • Intentional character development focus running thru all facets of the camp

Field Player Training

The camp will expose players not only to a high level and intensity of technical training, but to technical, tactical and system training that is specific to the Hope Men’s Soccer playing vision and system

Goalkeeper Training

Goalkeepers will train exclusively as keepers during the training sessions, and then play in the goal in 11 v. 11 games as well

Character Development Focus

Specific emphasis on personal growth and leadership development. Coach Brandt is one of the foremost leaders in the country in the areas of team chemistry, servant leadership and using soccer as a vehicle for character development. This focus on principles that can be learned through sport and competition is a specific focus of the camp and the men’s soccer program in general at Hope

Interaction with Hope College Players

Most of the current Hope College roster will be at the camp, allowing for significant, and in some cases, even programmed, interaction with the current players, both on and off the field

Each player will receive an assessment from his Hope camp coach that evaluates the player’s ability in the following areas: possession, technical ability, attacking, defending and attitude
