Keynote: Jason Kehrer
Our keynote speaker, Jason Kehrer, will present “The Art and Design of Empathy in Everyday Life.”
Jason serves as the senior manager of innovation for Newell Brands and leads the innovation
and advanced design activity for a variety of globally recognized brands including
Rubbermaid, Graco, Baby Jogger, Calphalon, IRWIN, Paper Mate, Sharpie, DYMO, EXPO,
Contigo, Yankee Candle, Parker, Waterman, Mr. Coffee, Crock-Pot and Oster, among others.
In addition, Jason serves as the managing director of the Holland-based NewNorth Center for Design in Business, a nonprofit organization working with a variety of businesses, organizations and others to help infuse design thinking and human-centered design methods to stimulate innovation, solve big problems and build effective teams.
A 2003 Hope graduate, Jason began his career in local and international community development, working to understand needs, design solutions and build programs in Michigan, South Africa and Swaziland. Prior to joining the NewNorth team, Jason was the general manager and lead brand strategist for a Holland, Michigan-based creative agency working with higher education and healthcare institutions on brand strategy and communications; he led the launch of a number of award-winning and successful brand campaigns nationwide. Jason and his wife Molly live in downtown Holland with their two young children.
