Hope Alert
All clear with caution. Lockdown has been lifted, but please be careful and vigilant if you choose to leave your area.

On Friday, April 4, 2025, at 10:10 p.m., a Hope Alert message was distributed to campus, initiating a lockdown. Campus Safety was notified of a person who brandished a handgun in Lot 52. The suspect, who is not affiliated with Hope College, left the scene.
Campus Safety and the Holland Department of Public Safety responded immediately. Students and staff who were present were not physically harmed. Upon initial investigation and in consultation with the Holland Department of Public Safety, the campus lockdown was lifted at 10:43 p.m. The investigation for the suspect continues. Please be vigilant and use caution as you move around campus tonight.

A suspect with a weapon is on campus near 10th and Lincoln. Campus is on LOCKDOWN. Police are investigating. Stay away from the area and use appropriate action.
