275 Columbia AvenueHolland, MI 49423-3654The De Pree Art Center and Gallery was renovated from a former furniture factory in 1982. It currently features a story-and-a-half gallery, a sculpture court, senior art studios, and classroom studios and faculty offices. The facility is named for Hugh De Pree, former chair of the Hope College Board of Trustees (1966–1978).
The modern amenities of the facility combined with the historical craftsmanship of the original factory give an advantage to the painting, drawing, printmaking, silkscreen, photography, ceramics and sculpture studios housed there.
The De Pree gallery hosts six shows throughout the year, including the Juried Student Art Show in the fall and the annual Senior Show in the spring. The De Pree gallery has gained national prestige for mounting multicultural exhibitions in various mediums.
Cook Auditorium is also in De Pree. The lecture hall holds numerous visiting artists and guest speakers.
