Kim FinsesOffice Assistant Business and Economics, Office Manager Political Science
In the Department of Economics and Business, Kimberly Finses provides administrative support for co-curricular programs including the Baker Scholars and Hope Entrepreneurship Initiative, some classes (including BUS 222) and external relations. In the Department of Political Science, she provides support for the chair and faculty, as well as for a variety of department-related programs, including the Washington Honors Semester.
She joined Hope in 2019, and brings to her work extensive experience working with high school students as a mentor and college students as an academic advisor, support staffer and administrator.
After Kimberly graduated from Hope College, she served as an academic advisor at two other West Michigan colleges. Her responsibilities included coordinating testing, evaluating transfer credits and helping students choose majors and select courses. Later, in several Iowa and Kentucky school districts, she provided academic support for special education students, which included working one-on-one with students and handling documentation for individualized education plans. In her most recent position before returning to Holland to live, she served on the administrative staff of a church in Kentucky.

OUTSIDE THE COLLEGE
Kimberly and her husband, Scott, returned to West Michigan after spending time in Iowa, Kentucky and the on east side of Michigan. They live in Holland in a recently renovated home near the beach that was originally built in 1901. They are active members of Pillar Church. Outside of work, they enjoy hiking, biking, snowshoeing and boating.
