Sara Hogan is passionate about creating a workplace where employees can thrive. As associate director of Human Resources, she has the privilege of partnering with leaders across campus to enhance the employee experience. Her work focuses on employee relations, professional development, performance management and ensuring compliance with employment laws and best practices — all in support of Hope College’s mission and strategic priorities.

Professional Experience

Sara has always been drawn to roles that bring people, strategy and operations together. Her professional journey has included roles in creative services, technology and higher education, and culminated in nearly nine years of administrative leadership at Benjamin’s Hope. At Hope College, she aims to leverage her diverse background to support leaders in building effective teams and strengthening workplace culture.

Why I Love Hope

What Sara loves most about Hope College is its people. As a student, Hope was a community where she felt supported, challenged and encouraged to grow. That experience continues to shape who she is today. She’s grateful for the opportunity to work alongside people who foster that same experience for others. It certainly doesn’t hurt that she gets to work on one of the most beautiful campuses in Michigan!

Outside the College

Outside of work, you’ll find her spending time with her family or with a good book. Sara loves West Michigan and tries to make the most out of living here. She likes trying new restaurants or catching a concert. Most of her free time is spent cheering on my kids in support of their interests and activities, which she wouldn’t trade for anything.
