The accomplishments of the Hope College women's basketball program this season has not gone unnoticed by the peers of coach Brian Morehouse who has been named the Russell Athletic/WBCA District Coach of the Year for the second time in three years.

The accomplishments of the Hope College women's basketball program this season has not gone unnoticed by the peers of coach Brian Morehouse who has been named the Russell Athletic/WBCA District Coach of the Year for the second time in three years.

As the honoree from the Great Lakes Region, Morehouse is now one of eight candidates for the Division III national coach of the year.

The Flying Dutch posted the first undefeated regular season in Hope women's basketball history and this weekend will carry a 29-0 record into the second round of the NCAA Division III tournament.

In seven years as coach, Morehouse has guided the Flying Dutch to a 153-41 record. The team has won four consecutive MIAA championships with a overall record during that span of 92-11.

Morehouse was also named the WBCA region coach of the year in 2000-01 and in 2001-02 was voted the Michigan Collegiate women's basketball coach of the year by the Basketball Coaches Association of Michigan.
