The public is invited. Admission is free.

Simmons is the author of "Odd Girl Out: The Hidden Culture of Aggression in Girls" and "Odd Girl Speaks Out: Girls Write about Bullies, Cliques, Popularity and Jealousy." She has appeared on "The Oprah Winfrey Show," "Today," "Dateline NBC," and NPR's "Diane Rehm Show" and "Talk of the Nation," and has been profiled in publications including "The New York Times," "Washington Post" and "The Los Angeles Times." Lifetime Television developed a film based on "Odd Girl Out."

Her talk has been organized by Holland Public Schools' West Middle School, with additional sponsorship by Cadbury Schweppes Bottling Group, the Elsa Prince Foundation, Haworth Inc., Holland Hospital Behavioral Health Services, Holland Public Schools PTO, the Department of Education and the Department of Psychology at Hope, the Grand Valley State University Women's Center and the Grand Valley State University Continuing Education Department-Meijer Holland Campus.

A book signing will follow the presentation at approximately 8:30 p.m. Copies of Simmons's books will also be available for purchase the night of the event.
