A "Liederabend" (evening of song) will be presented by the Hope College department of music in the Padnos Gallery at the Holland Area Arts Council on Tuesday, Nov. 23, at 7:30 p.m.

The public is invited. Admission is free.

The Liederabend is the culminated project for the students enrolled in the college's German Diction course for singers, providing an opportunity for them to perform Lieder in the sort of intimate setting for which the works were composed. The course, taught by Professor Linda Dykstra, is offered every other fall semester and incorporates the study of the development of the Lied with learning-appropriate pronunciation of German.

This year's Liederabend will feature songs composed by Robert Schumann.

The Holland Area Arts Council is located in downtown Holland at 150 E. Eighth St., on Eighth Street west of Columbia Avenue.
