The directors for this year's "Nutcracker" are seniors Helen Gay of Lexington and Michael Parmelee of Lansing, and sophomore Sarah Lowry of Island Falls, Maine. Together, with the collaboration of various choreographers and Ballet Club's executive board, they have taken a cast of more 60 dancers to create the production. Dancing snowflakes, magical battles, the elegant grace of the Sugar Plum Fairy, and special guest appearances will help create a holiday spirit.
The Hope College Ballet Club is a student organization dedicated to exploring the spirit of ballet, increasing its members' technical efficiency through classical ballet, and considering the role that ballet plays in today's dance world through experiencing contemporary and original works rooted in ballet.
